About us
The goal of the local Porvoo branch of the Mannerheim League for Child Welfare (MLL Uusi Porvoo) is to increase joy and communality for families and children, by making opportunities to spend time together and encounter peers. The association was founded in 2009, and this defined mission has remained unchanged ever since. All activities aim to advance family welfare, communal participation and sustainable growth in the Porvoo region, and the association operates fully on a volunteer basis.

Activities in Porvoo
The local Porvoo association organizes fun activities and events for children and families in Porvoo. Current events and activities can be found our website, Facebook page and Instagram @mlluusiporvoo.
The association runs a weekly family cafe in the youth centre Zentra, Mannerheiminkatu 20, on Tuesdays from 3 to 5 PM. You are warmly invited to spend time with us and other families with children. Tea, coffee and snacks are available free of charge during the cafe’s opening hours.

Membership of the Mannerheim League for Child Welfare is a simple way to show your support for children and their status in our society. It’s taking a stance for children and families. The League defends children’s rights by supporting families, organizing activities for all ages and offering volunteer work that brings joy to families while also strengthening your own sense of community and wellbeing.
As a member you are entitled to numerous membership benefits, such as the Lapsemme (Our children) magazine, which is mailed to your home twice a year.

Our local association operates fully on a voluntary basis, and you can participate in as small or large a capacity as you like. Even a small contribution makes a big difference, both for the families involved and for you. We are happy for every new English speaking member and volunteer!
